❀ Natural Pregnancy Preparation
Preparing for conception and a healthy pregnancy starts with treating any health issues that might be affecting your chances of conceiving. First and foremost, we want you to have healthy looking periods and cycles. We address egg and sperm quality issues, digestion, sleep, stress, and autoimmune conditions that often impact the ability to conceive easily.
Chinese and functional medicine take a holistic approach when addressing the body and mind. This approach can effectively treat hormonal and other health related issues that impact fertility. Preparing for conception begins with improving all bodily systems, opening the door for conception as well as a healthy pregnancy and baby.
❀ IVF, IUI and other ART Therapies
Supporting your fertility and health before or during the process of IUI or IVF includes: improving egg quality, ensuring you have a wonderful looking period for successful implantation, reducing inflammation and gut related disorders. Regulating the endocrine, nervous, and immune system and addressing conditions that may impact conception are essential ways we can aid in your fertility journey.
Treatments leading up to and during the process of IUI or IVF will assist within each phase of the process, as well as reduce side effects from the medications.
Studies show that acupuncture for fertility:
• Increases blood flow to the uterus to promote implantation
• Improves ovarian function, which may help produce better quality eggs and a larger number of follicles
• Reduces side effects of drugs used in ART procedures

In a study published in Fertility and Sterility in April 2002, acupuncture was shown to increase the success rate of IVF procedures from 26-42%. We are familiar with IUI and IVF protocols and know how we can safely and effectively support your chances of conceiving. ❀ Acupuncture for Embryo Transfer
Acupuncture is effective therapy to increase blood flow to the uterine cavity and increase the changes of successful embryo transfer. We offer day of acupuncture treatments pre and post embryo transfer. These treatments can take place both in our office and at Conceptions Reproductive Center.
A 2001 German study demonstrated greater pregnancy rates in patients who received acupuncture both immediately prior to and after embryo transfer. In this study, 42.5% of the acupuncture group experienced clinical pregnancy, whereas just 26.3% of those who did not receive acupuncture had a positive outcome. The acupuncture treatments relax the uterus, stabilize the endocrine system, and calm the patient. These combined effects decrease the chance of uterine contractions and enhance a positive implantation and pregnancy. (Fertility and Sterility, Vol.77, No. 4, April 2002)
